Niecie, recognized by the soul running through her veins, was born and raised in Motown. She sang lead and backup in various Detroit bands including soul, R&B, classic rock and blues.
Niecie's style has been influenced by the likes of Angela Bofill, Miki Howard, Lisa Stanfield and Phylis Hyman to Aretha Franklin, Patti LaBelle, Oleta Adams, Bessie Smith, Carole King, Grace Slick, Bonnie Raitt, Etta James, Gladys Knight and all the Motown greats.
And Niecie can rock it!!!! She's rocked out the tunes of Bad Company (one of her major influences and her fav!), Humble Pie, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Santana, Jimmy Hendrix, Van Halen, Kiss, Frampton, REO Speedwagon, Guess Who, Traffic and Grand Funk Railroad.
Other musical greats who have influenced Niecie's soulful, funky, blues style are Prince, The Isley Brothers, Ray Charles, The Commodores, BB King, Janis Joplin, Freddie King, Janet Jackson, Albert King, Muddy Waters and Al Green.
With such a booming voice, Niecie found herself involved in musical theater, working with various theater companies in the Detroit area.
Let's not forget, Niecie's got rhythm too! Dancing since a tot, she went on to pursue a Bachelor of Fine Arts, studying jazz dance.
Moving on to Chicago, Niecie was a member of the Mo-Ming Reperatory Dance Studio. While doing the "windy city hang," she vocally trained in the arena of opera; but keeping with her roots, she continued to do R&B and rock gigs. It was during her time in Chicago that the Blues swarmed her soul. Where else but Chicago!!
Leaving the city, Niecie's career took her to the islands. She began singing aboard Caribbean cruise ships in both the stage show and as a performer in the piano bar. Based out of Miami, Niecie found herself exploring the Latin music craze. From there, she hit the road for Vegas, becoming a lounge act in various casinos.
Deciding it was time to head back east, Niecie landed in Boston where she studied with some of the greats from Berklee College of Music. From there, it was time to take the big leap and put herself out there as a solo artist. Combining her various styles and influences along her musical journey, Niecie emerged a Blues Diva with a rocking, funky, soulful edge. She jumped at every opportunity to be in the recording studio.
Off and running for national appeal, Niecie became a road warrior, making herself known in music scenes in various cities including Los Angeles, San Francisco, Oakland, Omaha, Memphis, Cincinnati, Cleveland, New York, and the Carolinas. Finding her way to Nashville, Music City USA, she got really serious, instantly breaking into the scene. Her musical journey has culminated into the slamming, chart topping hit CD..."Peace Of My Mind"!!!!!!
